2018 GOALS!!!

Hello guys! It is a new year and the new year resolutions keep on rolling in from different people, but this year, I have decided to do things a lot different from past years. To commit to writing down 2018 goals, going a step further by sharing some of them with you to keep me accountable and also encourage you to write out your goals and keep working towards accomplishing them.

GROW TUTUSDIARY.

Tutusdiary is my second baby after my hair and seeing it grow bigger and better every day is of utmost importance to me. I am going to be doing the following to make it grow:

  • Be CONSISTENT.
  • Engage with other bloggers post by liking and dropping comments
  • Keep working on the blog’s appearance
  • And dropping quality content

KEEP BEING HAPPY.

Happiness is one thing I take close to my heart. I take my happiness as a priority and guard it jealously. Continuing to be happy is what I am working on in 2018 by deliberating doing things that will constantly make me happy.

MAINTAINING HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS.

I am a somewhat private person thanks to my ambivert nature, but in previous years I have tried to come out of my shell and relate to people more hence forming relationships with them. I am going to be intentionally working on relationships/friendships in 2018 because I lost a lot of relationships in past years because I just didn’t know how to keep up with people. I am learning this already.

ENTERING MEANINGFUL FRIENDSHIPS/ RELATIONSHIPS.

I am sorry, not sorry that I don’t believe in the ‘no new friends’ thingie. I am open to being friends with people who share common goals as I do and is willing to keep being better. So yes in 2018 I am raising a toast to make GOOD friends and increasing my friend network.

BE BETTER.

Daily as I live, my constant prayer to God is to be a better version of who I was yesterday. I just don’t want to be the same person you met yesterday but a better person. So in 2018 being better is my watchword not necessarily because I was a member of Junior Chambers International and ‘Be Better’ was our slogan but me just adopting these word personally.

LEARNING, UNLEARNING AND RELEARNING.

I was on WhatsApp the other day looking through my contacts and I saw a quote about learn and unlearning on Deniran my very good friends status. This word hit me so hard. How we as humans just keep on learning without unlearning that which is meant to be unlearnt and relearning. “The future belongs to those who learn, unlearn and relearn”.- Wayne Mansfield. I translate it as this, the future belongs to me so I have to learn, unlearn and relearn.

BECOME WANDERLUST.

I realized I have been less adventurous thanks to the weight of adulthood weighing me down on both sides. But no more of this in 2018, I have decided to start planning trips to visit states/cities in the US if I probably can’t afford to visit places outside the US.

READ A BOOK EVERY MONTH.

I used to read a lot in those days but not being able to prioritize my schedule made me fall back on this a whole lot. I am committing to reading a book a month to get back my reading mojo. A book a month won’t hurt nobody, you should come on this journey with me as I am going to be sharing the books I am reading on my Instagram page.

SAVE MORE.

I buy a lot of unnecessary things and let me add shoes are my obsession. I also do a lot of retail therapy which means on days I am extremely bored or in a bad mood I drive to the closest store/mall around and buy whatever tickles my fancy hence my low saving habit. Since I have written above about traveling more in 2018, I sure do need to save more. So I am doing the 30 days NO spend challenge bi-monthly to keep up with saving coupled with the saving lessons I inculcated after reading the Smart Money woman By Arese Ugwu, you should go read this book.

GETTING BACK TO THE GYM.

Going to the gym used to be fun for me during my final year in school but along the line, I lost all the zeal and went back to my old way. So in 2018, I am going back to the gym to be healthy and keep fit not necessarily to lose weight.

ENJOY SOCIAL MEDIA.

If you follow me on Social media you will know I love posting pictures every now and then because I love the social media platforms. I have resulted to post more consistently meaningful content on social media, engage with other people’s content more and make more friends via social media

DRINK MORE WATER.

One thing I take less of is Water. I will take juice over water any day anytime mind you I know the benefits of taking water. Since 2018 is a year of taking my health seriously, I am going to be bringing out my water bottle from the cupboard and using it more. I probably will be infusing lemon or cucumber as the spirit leads.

KEEP A JOURNAL.

Way back in high school I had a diary which I called my books of secrets where I wrote down my teenage experiences and misadventures (looking back now, I can’t help but laugh at my self) and I did keep this diary well over a year or two. I am going to go back to keeping a book but in this case, a journal in which I am going to be writing ideas, testimonies, breakthroughs, lessons learned and the list goes on. I got two: one for more arranged and processed thoughts and another for scribbling and stuff.
